FLO opens with a burst of ripe raspberry — that intense, almost metallic raspberry that has become one of modern niche perfumery's most recognizable notes — accompanied by a hint of apple and a touch of orange blossom that adds luminosity and prevents the fruit from becoming too sweet. The initial sensation is juicy, vibrant, full-bodied. Some perceive a violet accent in these first few minutes that adds a very elegant powdery nuance.
The heart is where the composition gets interesting. Rose and jasmine appear — two white and red flowers that alternate without stepping on each other's toes — supported by a powdery iris. FLO is inspired by Flamenco, a perfume from the house of Ramón Monegal launched in 2017. The original retail bottle is over €140 for its 100 ml EDP version.
FLO gives you the same olfactory structure — the metallic raspberry, the floral heart with iris, the woody base with cedar and pine — manufactured in Spain, without the layers of niche packaging and selective distribution that multiply the price of the original. FLO works practically all year round, but shines especially in transition seasons — spring and autumn — where its fruity and woody sides are best balanced. In summer it feels fresh thanks to the citrus-fruity opening; in winter it gains body thanks to the cedar and amber base.
It's a perfume with good versatility for any occasion: it works during the day with a couple of sprays (raspberry and rose dominate and it feels vibrant) and works at night by applying a bit more generously (the woody base settles in and the overall effect becomes more intimate). It lasts between 8 and 10 hours on skin; on clothes it can be noticeable the next day.
