The fragrance
PIR opens in red. Spicy saffron — that warm, slightly leathery note — over a dense, deliciously boozy plum liqueur, with bergamot adding the only drop of light. It's an opening that smells of an expensive drink in a dark bar: sweet without being patisserie, spicy without the burn, with that intoxicating edge that turns heads before you even reach the table.
The heart is where the signature appears: lavender. But not the clean lavender of a Sunday cologne — a dark lavender, wrapped in sage and orange blossom, that gives the perfume its aromatic, masculine backbone. It's the counterpoint that stops all the sweetness of the opening from overflowing, and what keeps it elegant hour after hour.
And the base goes straight to the night: expansive amberwood, vanilla-tinged benzoin, soft oud wood and a warm tobacco that rounds it all off. It projects strongly, lasts until the next day and leaves an unmistakably nocturnal sillage. It evokes Phantom in Red, the most acclaimed flanker in its line — in an interpretation for those who want that red on their skin without paying for the limited edition.

The original, in perspective
Phantom in Red is the most ambitious move in years: a limited edition from December 2025 created by three perfumers, Nicolas Beaulieu, Anne Flipo and Juliette Karagueuzoglou, which dresses the robot in red and takes the line into almost niche territory — saffron, oud and plum liqueur in a designer scent. Critics have crowned it the best of the whole saga. That's why it's here.
